 jon fishing galveston?

I'm looking for some suggestions on where to launch/fish from a 14' jon in the galveston area. I have a 9.8 on the thing so I can cover some water but I'd like to stay "protected" where I can hug a shoreline if necessary. Any suggestions on a safe place where I can avoid the ICW as much as possible also? Hell, any locals wanna fish?

west bay and sweetwater lake.you can launch at the 61 st boat ramp and run about 3 miles and get into sweetwater. also all of west bay. fish on!

you could put in on 61st on Offatts Bayou its all pertected. There is a nice little reef marked right in front of the moody airport runway.

Yacht basin is right across from Sea Wolf. Bro-inlaw got a 14' that does great from there.
