Hey guys my step dad wants to hit the cedar hill state park side of joe pool.. we do plan to get up there early any suggestions on bait? top water? and what we can look for.. never fished it before? ive heard they have fishing piers are those worth spending time on? thanks!!!

Dunno bout the piers if you fish there, might try minnows its pretty shallow there's a pump house beside one of the concrete piers with a buncha riprap you'd have to hike down there but its pretty good for bass.The first ramp strait ahead when you go threw the gates there's a crappie house thingy too but I think you gotta pay or somethin

This time of year the piers for catfish are your best bet.
