Local news reported a small aligator caught in a neighborhood close to a cove on the lake....later died after captured from dehydration the report said.....said that by its stomach contents it is indeginous to Lake Waco...have any of you that are on the lake often ever seen one? I have not...have heard "things" going from bank to water before while fishing but just figured it was beavers or nutrrias i guess....

In all my time on Lake Waco I've never seen one but it wouldn't surprise me a bit!

There are several, and I mean they are reproducing, in the Lampasas River above Stillhouse Hollow Lake. I have some pics, but can't find them right now. Game Wardens know they are there and have acknowledged there presence. My wife and I were crappie fishing two years ago and watched a 10 footer swim back and forth across the river. So, if they are in Stillhouse, they sure could be in Lake Waco.

Night fishing late may, spot lighted one on north bosque between 183 bridge and mouth of river. I'd say around eight footer! Freaked my son and wife out.

Yeah, it best to avoid close contact with them , they are bad news. I've witnessed a 9ft Gator pulled a wild-hog into the water drown-it then surface 2min later to tear-off and eat half of the 150lbs Pig in just 3 bites, then it took the rest hided down under the water. In South Florida ,gator attacking human happenning more frequent because they loss the fear of human due to peoples feeding them.

We need to focus. Our Children are usually smaller than that Hog. Onewolf
