Thanks Yaffe As close as I live, haven't been on Lavon in 10 years or so. Thought I might take the grandson out for some sand bass fun.

That's as close to a slaughter fest as I can remember seeing. Now that I'm back from Colorado I would love to get in on some of that. Maybe even a cooler night time trip. Holla at ya real soon.

Tip: go to the middle of the dam about 100 yards of it and wait till they start boiling. Keep your eyes peeled and about 730 they start and almost like clock work, they go down at 930 am. You should have no problem finding them. They will be everywhere you look! The top keeper catching lure is below. 90% of the fish that hit it are keepers. Slabs catch the dinks right now. The bigger fish love the top waters for some reason. If you are catching dinks move about 100 yards to the next boil till you find a keeper school. Most are averaging 12-13 inches with half being 14-15. A cat fisherman told me today, he got a 22 inch striper the other day too. Very very few of them. I got 3 last year but they were 17 inchers. Have fun guys! Tomorrow is a crappie trip unless they want to limit on sandies, then hit the crappie, so we will see.

How are they doing on Rattle-traps, or have you tried yet? I've always had the best luck with catching the bigger sandbass running a large trap through the schoolies on top. Catch'em 2 at a time sometimes on one trap. Of course tiny-torpedoes fast rolled across the surface and sassy shad are always good producers as well. Can't say I ever liked slabbing and would rather soak shad than do that, haha. If we hit'em good tomorrow, I'll have to get my dad out there on Sunday with the fly rods for some fun on the 2 wts.

Rattle traps do catch them, but the dinks slap at them and ya, you sometimes catch two on them. Corey had two fish on the same topwater lure today. I like to use the topwater and watch them knock it out of the water a foot or two. Very excitilng. I feel like a kid at Xmas eveytime I see them boil. It never gets old. I'll also throw large 4 inch sassy shad as well to get the bigger fish, but for me the topwater bite is just more eye candy.

Talk about a boat show out there today! They wouldn't stay up long with everyone running through them, but still caught 30-40 with 10 keepers. I can't count the number of times I was cut off within 20 yards or less as I was drifting into the schools. I can understand accidently drifting close, but to get on a trolling motor and jump right in front of me to where I and my wife cant even cast towards the schools, c'mon.
