Is the weekly Wednesday night tourney, on Dunlap this week?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it is. See all you fellers out there. Which one of you is going to get my money?

Lakes fish very different.. McQueeney has virtually no pressure right now since it is virtually impossibble to launch, so I can guarantee catching fish at McQueeney isnt very hard right now. It has always been a great summer fishing lake IMO. On the other hand, Since last years catch was so good at Dunlap, the fish have seen every bait in the box. The last 10 times I have been out there, I have not caught nothing to brag about. I know both lakes well, and I would much rather be fishing McQueeney than I would Dunlap. However if you do go out to Dunlap, fish from around 5am to 10pm. Anything after that, you are going to get waked off the lake.

Tourney's alternate between Canyon and Dunlap every Wednesday. They start at 5pm. Individual format $15 a man. If you can catch fish on McQueeney all you have to do is catch 2 keepers on Dunlap and you will win.

Someone put out the details on the Wednesday night tourneys - I would like to join.
Every other Wednesday - What cycle will you be on on July 20. I could probably make the 20th and 27th.
Please post. I have not fished Dunlop in about a year, but really enjoyed the lake and have no reason not to hit up some of the Wednesday nighters.

Wednesday night working mans Tourney Schedule Individual format but can fish 2 in a boat Entry fee - $15 (winner takes all) Shotgun start at 5pm. Weigh in at 8:45pm
July 13th - Dunlap (launch under I-35 bridge) July 20th - Canyon (launch Jacobs Creek Park north ramp) July 27th - Dunlap Aug. 3rd - Canyon Aug. 10th - Dunlap 7 days after that - Canyon
Canyon is fishing better than Dunlap right now by far. I didn't make the last 2 T's on Canyon, but have been out there and I'd say it would take close to 8-9lbs to win on 3 fish out there. Queue the potlickers! They'll never find the fish, it's taken me years.

Yeah, I agree with Tamale. Canyon is WAY better than Dunlop so far this summer. Some might forget, Dunlap is really just a river, with river fish in it. Without current, the lake is never the same and the fish don't feed the same//water looks like [censored]--and the fishing is [censored]. We get some rain and get the water moving--it will be game on for Dunlap.
Wish the Wedsday tournaments would be from 7-10, instead of starting at 5PM. Hard for anybody to get out there and fish it--unless you own your own company.
Been thinking of starting a Friday nighter like the one out at Medina. Similar format 7:30 till midnight---thoughts anyone???

5 o'clock is prety early but 7pm is pretty late. It would be better for me if they were at 5:30 or even 6. Could you guys make it if they launched at 6 vs 5?

Decided to try it this morning. It took over an hour for my 1st bite, but it was a decent one between 5-6 pounds. I soon gave up on my usual baits and went to the drop shot in some deeper water....picked up 4 more keepers. The skiers came out early and i left a little after 9am. What a difference a year makes. I was boating 25-40 this time last year.
FISH ON!! <'///><

Went out Sunday. Launched from Schuman's. Went upriver to some stickups on the left side and flipped a glimmer blue trickworm at them. Caught three nice little 2 - 3 pounders. Left by 1030...it was getting HOT already.

Is the lake still going to be fishable/boatable after being lowered? How long is this going to last? Why is this happening??
