Gorgeous boat... I can't even begin to wonder how to make such a work of art...

Is that a Golden Retriever? Mine looks like that when I put the #2 guard and clippers on her haha... Her face and ears are darker than the rest of her body when she's shaved... I call her Snooki in that awkward phase lol

She's a Lab, been my shadow for thirteen years now and is slowing down quite a bit.

Amazing work!
I agree with Shaun on thats one of the prettier and well thought out ones Ive seen.
The other one with the hatches is sweet too!
My buddy built two wood canoes himself that we use during the Sandbass run in RC....and they are super tough!

this one will have hatches also. I just have not gotten around (built up enough courage) to cut them in.

Well I took a deep breath and took a saw to her today. Both hatches are cut. All I need to do now is install the lip around both of them.

Graphite impregnated epoxy serves two purposes. The first is it is a visual wear indicator ,when you can see the wood thru it it is time to recoat before you have damage to the fiberglass and the second is once it is scuffed up just a little it is as slick as snot. I went back out to the shop tonight and put the first of two coats on.

Really nice Darrell.
How much do you think it'll weigh when it's finished?
Would this be the Freedom 15 model?

She is going to weigh right around 55#. The last boat I built was the Freedom 15, this is the first time this boat has been built,as a stripper, it's called the NorthWind.

It's almost time to make her really shine. Hatch lips are installed and the boat is ready for varnish. Just need to give the epoxy time to cure a bit. It won't be long and I will give her the maiden voyage. I am getting pretty excited about paddling this boat.
