I was at hubbard last weekend at a 2 lane boat ramp, i was next in line and and i had 8 trucks behind me. There were 2 boats on the ramp one couldn't get there motor to start and the other backed there boat in halfway then they stopped and went back to there truck to get there poles, ice chest, life jacket and gas can, this is all stuff they should have done before backing in. Then they couldn't get there motor to start. Now at this time i have about 12 trucks behind me and have been waiting for over 12min. Finally the game warden came up and made them both pull off the ramp. This is what really pisses me off. If i have a buddy with me its takes me less than 5 min to back my boat start it up and get out of the way. Come on people!!!!

I know you're probably an old pro, but lots of folks just don't have the experience and getting your boat launched can be a bit nerve wracking the first couple times....lots of stuff to forget, and you're under the pressure of several folks (like yourself) waiting and getting mad if you don't hustle in and out. It can really cause some anxiety for a first timer - I remember my first couple times down the ramp, everything that could go wrong did, and it was pretty stressful trying to not to hold up the line. Not saying those guys couldn't have done a better job, but in the grand scheme of things, 12 minutes ain't too bad, and everyone's gotta start somewhere...not sure coming onto a forum 4 days later to vent is really going to get them up and down the ramp any faster. Maybe help 'em out with some friendly advice so next time they don't hold you up?

Just one question , if a "hypothetical person" is too F'n stupid to load and/or unload a boat in a timely manner, how have they lived this long? Its a simple, quick and easy process.... but on a side note , it may be just as well to show them a few pointers..

I know for a long time my old boat would work in reverse. It was not fun at the ramp. I got one shot to load. Really not fun to do by myself. My goal is to be the first one at the ramp. I've got it down to a science now that I've done it by myself so many times. Unstrap the back, give the winch some slack, back down, jump in the bed of the truck, tight rope walk the trailer tongue, unhook the winch from the eye, beach it and jump in the truck!

Thks from people that are waiting on you.

sone of the best entertainment around is just to sit on ramp on a busy day and watch all the people, some are experts but that vast majority are morons plus many have no respect for whos waiting etc

I understand that waiting on someone at the ramp can be frustrating, but we didn't all begin as experienced awesome as heck backer uppers. So just chill out and relax. 12min is nothing to get upset about. Maybe you need to take that time to sit back and be thankful you have a boat and truck and have the ability to go fishing. Also if you saw them having troubles maybe they were new and a little advice and help could have got them off the ramp faster? Instead try lending a hand instead of sitting back (probably giving them the stare) and making the situation worse on them than it already was.

Had a guy on Grapevine tuesday trying to get his boat off the trailer.Had six young kids on the dock waiting on him.He was having a hard time and I could see he was getting frustrated. Went to help and noticed the trailer was floating/moving all over the ramp. I told the guy he still has his straps on because the boat is moving the trailer all over the place. He thanked me for the help. Not worth getting upset about. Not good for your health. Made me feel good to help him out.All the kids started geering when he got the boat off the trailer.

I sat through a convention and seminars last week in Vegas.....one class was all about negativity and stress....
I have to say some of you guys are leading yourself to an early death...heart attacks, ect.
Don't let others control your anger! Life will be much better!
BTM and James said it very well!

Open your eyes & look within, are you satisfied with the life youre living.
No matter how good or bad you have it, wake up each day thankful for your life. Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs.
