You need to check out this site for fly fishing for catfish and other interesting non-typical fly fishing targets... Plus some cool original patterns: http://missouriflies.com/fly-fishing-blog/ This guy targets Bluegill, Catfish, Common Carp, Crappie, Drum, Goldeye, Hybrid Stripped Bass, Largemouth Bass, Skipjack Herring, Smallmouth Bass and other species. You'll probably learn a little from him... I know that I did.

I've caught a few cats with clousers. But never when I was intentionally targeting them. As for the crappie, they eat clousers on Lake Tyler. My 10 year old seems to catch crappie on a clouser about every other time we go out.
