Today I was on the lake. I stopped to look at a promising dock to fish under and when I hit the gas again all my motor did was rev up. I didn't move at all. When I engage it, it will push me at idol speed but when I try to give it more gas nothing happens. I took the prop off but there is no sheer pin. I'm guessing a rubber bushing??? Anybody know more about this than me? Thanks

I think you are right on the money. In my tourney days in mid winter when things were kind of slow I always took my prop off and sent it off for rebushing every year and have any nicks or dings repaired while I was at it. If you use you boat on a weekly basis or if the bushing is starting to show some cracking I highly recommend changing it out. Another thing that can happen is if it slips that bad is you could put it in reverse and literally pull the prop off the bushing and then you will be prop shopping as well..

Well seeing as how I use my prop on a daily basis... So far the last 10 days, that would male sense. I'm just glad I don't have to take the lower end apart. Thanks for the help. I'll get my prop to a shop in the morning. Got a tournament comin up tomorrow afternoon. Thanks again.

Have you happened to hit a stump? I had one that knocked the pitch and cup different and it wouldn't hardly run. I thought it was a spun bushings at first too

it doesn't sound like a lower unit problem at all.
