I have started my summer hybrid fishing. Though I fish for hybrids year around, i have been spending most of my time at Whitney because the action has been good. The last two trips on Whitney have slowed and the fish I am catching are getting thinner (heat stress). Dont get me wrong, you can still catch good fish at Whitney but chasing hybrids this time of year is a better choice in my opinion. They handle the warmer water a little better than their full blooded cousins.

Spent two days in a row on Lake Bridgeport. Hybrid fishing and sandbass fishing has been good. First day there, two limits of hybrids came pretty quick smile Here are some pics of some of the hybrids from both days. LImits of big sandbass were also taken on both days. Some smaller sandbass have been schooling on the surface. The bigger sandbass are good in 20 to 28 feet of water.

I'll be out there early tomorrow. Hopefully it won't be too crowded.

I have fished Bridgeport for crappie, but this will be my first time going for sandies and hybrids.

Took off the the 3rd and the 4th. Leave the lake to the pleasure boaters. Fishing on the second was bad enough on Whitney. I have been on Benbrook as recently at 7-1, but solely to catch shad. It has been a few weeks since I fished it seriously. Will get a report out soon.

I went out once on the main lake Granbury in the past 3 weeks with only one sandbass caught. The remaining fish should be on the lower ends right now (does not look good for stripers at all). During the bloom, there were lots of sandbass active in the river near Tin Top. Those fish should be on the lower ends. Hopefully I will get a chance to report on Granbury this week too.

I also guide on Lewisville and will be working that lake like i do each summer.

thanks,

Michael Acosta
