Hey Guys and Gals, TFO is introducing their new BVK fly reels and I will receive one to test tomorrow.
Hey George, how was the BVK you tested?

Haven't tested on fish as yet - too hot!!! Beautiful reel - nicely machined bar stock... good drag ... OOPS ... Just went back and checked the BVK drag - it will stop a pickumup truck if you tighten drag securely - it's my Abel 3N that will stop a Mack truck ...

I picked up the BVK II Reel on eBay today. I sold some older gear on eBay recently and needed to replace a 5-6wt reel. It was posted earlier in the week for $215 and it didnt sell. Got relisted today for $170 shipped and I could'nt resist.

I tried a BVK 5-6 on a BVK 5wt in N Minnesota in early June. Caught LM to 4.5 lbs and a 32" Nothern Pike. Reel performed above my expections.Really light wt and smooth. Drag worked great the times I got into backing.Had to get a 3-4 and a 7-8.Caught small trout @ Padre on 3-4 but no hook-ups on reds. TFO has a "REEL Winner" here.

since nobody seems to have mentioned it. look into the Sage 1600 series of reels, they are right at 100 bux and have an incredibly smooth drag, and seem to be pretty durable.
