Had a little time today so I went and fished the windcrest pond, just off of walzem.

It is good to see that the recent rain has cleared out all of the algae that was building up and the water level has risen with run off still going into the pond.

I did not find the fish to be in the usual place that I catch them, instead there were alot of them concentrated in the corner by the run off, at one point I caught 4 bass in a row just as fast as I could bring them in, get a pic and re bait.

All fish were caught on berkley gulp alive earthworms and gulp alive crickets.

Somehow some of the other pictures of the bass I caught did not make it onto my memory card but I did catch a 14" and a 16.5 inch bass as well.

Pond isn't very big and since the rain filled it up adequately, the whole place is alive. I'd start when you pull up and park (depending on the side) there are 5 drainage spots. There is one in the corner that has a very accesible that will be in the top right corner (assuming you come from Walzem) that is very narrow and roughly 3 feet deep. Many of the larger fish hold to that area because it remains shaded for almost the whole day. If you want to be adventurous, the two on the far side, one is the inlet from the upper tank, will be the deepest spot for a possible giant to be had. That tank is full of large fish, and very few people actually fish it.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments,

Great lil place to try different baits and for me its only 7 minutes or so down the street thumb

I allways start with live nightcrawlers to establish that there is a bite and then switch to the berkley stuff.

Last time I went they were right up against the bank

Laterz,
dafanman
