My son and one of his fishing buddies just got back from a trip to the landcut. They fished two nights at a remote cabin under lights powered by a generator. He said they caught most of their specs on Berkley Gulp Shrimp in New Penny color. He said the trout were stacked in there thick. I doubt it really mattered what you threw out there. He said the trout were running a little biggger than last year. Largest was 22 inches. They also got to go fish offshore for two days out of a 32 foot Century CC with a tuna tower. He said it was a blast riding up in the tower out to the rigs. They fished with ribbonfish and lures but only caught one kingfish in two days. He said it was really rough the second day out, they trolled lures for several hours and did not catch a single fish.

Lack of blue water moving in close to shore is probably keeping lots out fish farther out. All the reports I'm hearing is that you have to run to the shelf (60 or so miles) to find really clean, blue water.
