Tell me everything I need to know about Leon please. My bride of 23 years wants to spend some time over there next week. Any help on putting her on some fishies would be appreciated. Thanks! BTW - taking lots of water, an umbrella and salt tabs....

Leon is low and fishing pretty tough. There are stumps popping up everywhere where everyone used to run. The only true safe place to run is from the dam to La mancha. The problem is that the ramp down by the dam is out of service cause of the low water levels. So you have to put in up the lake and idle through all the stumps. Regarding fishing, i would stay by the dam and drag texas rigs, finnesse jigs and shakey heads off the rocks.

First off is be careful..I fished it last night and was amazed at the amount of stumps that were above water and alot just below the surface. So if your unfamiliar with the lake take it easy..The bit was pretty steady but no fish worth bragging about. We caught fish on beaver style baits(watermelon red),grande bass rattlesnakes(trophy hunter) and a couple on cranks and pop-rs.

drive the extra 30 miles to hubbard creek , fish the grass and mid lake humps and drag a big worm on the points and try a DD crankbait
