i actually caught one on a small crank bait that struck it. i was reeling slowly and he bit it. i was bank fishing and only had a small multi-tool to attempt to retrieve my lure. he swiped it away from his mouth and it hung in his flipper, which conveniently left his mouth for snapping. he bit my tool which immediately became his. the line broke and off he went, lure in hand, tool in mouth. luckily he dropped the tool which i was able to find. btw, there was no chance of thuinder, so i was not too keen on getting bit.

btw, there was no chance of thuinder, so i was not too keen on getting bit. LOL....My grandfather always told me the same thing. Everytime I'd catch a turtle he'd say that if it bit me that it wouldn't let it go until lightning struck. I have never tested it. If Poppa said it, it must be true

I've seen a lot of Loggerheads in the Keys and down in Mexico while we were snorkeling. Didn't know they had migrated to Lake Fork.
The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

I was pitching stumps in Briar a few years back. Pitched to what I thought was a stump and it swam off! I have a fishing tube for sale if anybody is interested.

I have seen 3 out there that big. One at the Running Creek underwater bridge and the other 2 were over in Oilwell Bay. THe 1st time I saw one that size, I sat there for a second in disbelief at what I was seeing. I was kind of afraid to say anything because I didn't know that they ever got that big. The biggest one I had seen before that was maybe a 1/4 that size. I later found out that they can get big.
Set the hook first, ask questions later!!!
