Bass Assassin has some new lures out called MacDaddy. It is a 5 inch assassin with a spinner attached.I keep hearing that several guides down south are catching reds on them.

They work really well for reds. If you watch the redfish tournaments, you will see that most of the guys are throwing baits that have spinners. Rattle Traps are good too if there is no weeds.

Correct....traps are also good off the jetty in spring when the reds are coming back in from the gulf.

Rattletraps are great for trout, I favor the gold with a black back or the chrome with blue back. Make sure you get the floating and not the sinking version. They run shallower. I haven't caught enough reds on them to tell yet.

One of my favorite redfish lures is a gold spinnerbait with a red and black skirt. The only problem is, being a bass lure they're hell to find and the salt tears them up pretty quickly, as do the jackfish.

Rattletraps are excellent for specks. I use the standard sinking trap in gold or chrome- 1/4 or 1/2 oz. depending on the bait there chasing.

Hey Polydude,
Does that spinnerbait have a Colorado or willowleaf blade on it? If I come across some, I'd love to add to my already bulging bag of saltwater lures.

Two gold Willowleaf blades. I just dug one out, it's made by Stanley, called a "Wedge".
