Went to Tx City Dike last night(1st time) saw quite a few people fish with spot light running on generator and pulling in fish.

Just wondering how much does both the generator and spot light cost?

Hey Ronnie,

Sometimes "BigLots" has some real nice and very affordable generators. I have seen them in 2000 watts that costed about 199.99. You might also check around in Pawn shops. You don't really need a large generator. Now as for lights, I got mine in Houston at a store called "Lights Unilimited", call information for the store nearest you. They costed me about 100.00. Good luck.

This winter im going to build an LED cluster bulb. If it works, i may sell some. They should burn for almost a million candle hours(something ungodly like that) and can run for 36 hours on one car battery.....

Ronnie, the light you need and want is the 1000 Watt with the clear bulb and NOT the frosted type. Be sure when you purchase the light that it is the clear bulb. Also, make sure its the narrow beam too. This light is the perfect light for ya. I own one and thats where others have gotton theirs too. Don't get the halogen lights because they do not give the power and the beam like the 1000 watt clear bulb like I have mentioned. Others will tell you its ok to use the halogen but they don't perform squat.

As for generators, you need not a large generator, all you need is a gnenerator that will handle 1000 watts. There are small generators that run 2000 watts that are small and easy for mobiltiy, and Thats all you will need to take care of that 1000 watt lamp. Try calling "lights Unlimited" they have this light and it is also nicknamed the "Par 64" light. For 89.99 it will include the light with the housing.

I just bought me a smaller generator thats 2000 watts for about 239.99 in Nacogdoches, Tx at a store called "Freds". They have one more left incase you are wondering, its a real bargain and perfect for your light. Good luck and good fishin!!!

I was at the Texas City Dike from 3:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on Friday morning. I spent about an hour at the end of the dike fishing next to people with lights. I through several artificials, but didn't catch anything. The guy I was next too was tearing them up, but almost all of them were under 15". In the hour I was there he only boxed 1.

I then went and waded on the beach side of the dike and caught one hardhead and one 10" trout on artificials.
