Once again, I've been lazy with my trip reporting. Sorry. This report will cover five separate trips from April to June. First trip.....Brazos River. Fishing was slow, so I napped mid day. Pics: Craw Worm Bass. Nap time. Second trip......Llano River. We go down there a couple times a year for a change of scenery. Did a 12 mile float in a day. Caught several Guads and a few decent Largemouths. Pics: The girlfriend and I. The GF's Guad. Dixie had a cold one after a long day on the river. Third trip.....overnighter on the Brazos River. Fishing was slow again, but it was good to get out. Pics: This crawdad was in a tight spot. Baby bird that Dixie found. My new Warbonnet Hammock. Upgraded from a Claytor. Only way to camp in the summer. Grub.

Continued.... Fourth trip...day trip with the GF and her son. He's just getting into kayak fishing. Wasn't a serious fishing trip. It was all about the kiddo having a good time. Pics: Teaching. Good people. I towed when people got tired. Future river rat? Got him. Teaching again. He had fun. Mission accomplished.

Continued... Fifth trip.....solo Brazos day trip. Lots of neat things caught along the way. Pics: Senko Largemouth. Senko again. Was a cool sight fishing catch. Seen her long before I caught her. A little Smallmouth....I think. The more I look at the pic, he starts to resemble a smallie/spot hybrid. Not sure though. Faint horizontal lines on the belly and the makings of a lateral line like a spot, but definately has smallie markings on his shoulders and gill plates. I'm probably just trying to talk myself into it..... Brazos bass love crawdads! Get some! Got back to the take out after dark and almost stepped on this guy. I'm not a snake hater, but I went ahead and dispatched him because kids and pets frequent the area. Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoyed it.

What has happed to you does not define who you are-
HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

The first pict. of the LMB is a very large river bass. I am glad to see the golden algae has not killed the stocker fish. What is your guess of the weight of the fish? Thanks.

She was 5.75. I weighed her before the pic. The myth of the golden algea's effects on the bass of the Brazos was WAY overblown. Whatever effect it did have has been recovered from quickly. There's not a more fertile river in Texas, IMO.

It's more than the catfish would do.
