Saturday during Champs on Ray Roberts, We broke down right before noon with 18lbs in the livewell. After checking fuses and wire connections we were dead on the water. Two guys fishing the tournament in a black and blue champion pulled up and asked if we needed a tow. They pulled us all the way to the marina. We asked their names and I am pretty sure they both started with R, but could not hear over the wind. I offered the $40 cash I had in my pocket and they declined.
We got another battery at the marina and got to fish for another 20 minutes. I looked for them at the weight in and never saw them. I just wanted to say Thanks again we ended up in 10th place. I live in Keller, and travel all over the metroplex for work. I would love to buy you a beer and just say thanks again. I keep asking myself and I'm not sure if I would have done what they did, Some really good people on the lakes with us. Thanks guys contact me anytime.

Great story. Glad to hear about good deeds on the water when so much of what gets talked about is negative.

Shane, thanks for sharing your story. We see many stories on here about people "done wrong", but seldom ever do we hear the good that is so prevalent among folks sharing the outdoors.

I've been on both sides of your experience, several times. Thankfully I was the tower instead of the towee. Lance Vick did tow me from Little Caney to LFM one day. And Bogey ran through unfamiliar waters from LFM to tow me to the ramp last summer when I had a run-in with a rogue buoy way up north. My point is this happens almost every day on almost every public reservoir in Texas.

I don't know if sour grapes are a symptom of the times, our negative media or what, but I encounter infinitely more good people than bad in my outdoor pursuits. How come we don't hear more of those experiences?

I know... cuz the folks that are good on the inside aren't worried about looking good on the outside thumb texas texas texas

Its quite refreshing to hear tales of the TRUE outdoorsmen that fish our waters.

even though those jet skis are annoying me and my buddy in the club went fishing for a little bit last year out here on t wok and we saw a jet ski with 2 people in the water and it was half way sunken. We tied them to the back put the lady with us and the guy got back there and steered it the best he could all the way from ash cove to the ltbc. We will always help a bass boat if the motor is trimmed up out the water or if you can tell something is wrong. Feels good to do those things and those people we got they said they were in the water for over 3 hours and there was plenty of boat traffic going by to. Just some stuck up skiers that didn't wanna help

Good to hear those kinds of stories. Lots more good folks out there than bad ones but just don't hear about the goods near enough.
