What do you use? Tired of losing baits....

I know alot of people are big on using spark plugs, but these things work!

I use a deep 3/4 socket over a deep 5/8 socket bolted together with a eye bolt. Spring latch thru the eye of the bolt. Get directly over bait, pull line taught, open latch, insert line , let go of latch, and let 'er rip! I have a 30' length of nylon cord tied to the top of the latch. Works every time!

i use the same one from academy....take an old line spool and wind up the string, that way you never have to untangle it, just unwind and wind

or if you have a old round reel abu put some braided line on it and tie the knocker on it.

I use the same one, but I change the line out to 150 braid. It doesn't get tangled as bad when you use it.
Best one I have found by far.

Retirement best job ever.

Are those better than the knockers on a telescoping pole, or is it just a price/size stand point?

I prefer the old Hound Dog put out by David Fritts (or promoted by him). Hard to find, unless you go directly to his site. Used most of them and none work ALL of the time, but saves a TON in lost lures.

Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Guy on BBC makes one that's called a 44 Mag. I've got one and it works pretty well.

His member name on BBC is stratos284. He sold them on here a while back but I did a search and could not find his information.

I use the old hound dog too. I've attached about 30' of trotline cord to it and I use an old chalkline box to store it. No tangles and when I'm done I just crank it back in.

I actually reeled in on of those lure knockers shown above at Bob Sandlin. I guess someone managed to get it hung up and my crankbait hung it so I pulled it all in.. Not bad, got a perfectly good lure retriever for free!

I don't but PM Lance Vick as I made one for him, too.

i use an old golfball retriever that telescopes to 8-9 ft with a double loop epoxied to the end. i have retrieved more golf balls from the peninsula golfers at fork, but it works great for lures too.
