Got down on Sunday. Caught 1 36 inch Red in surf. Next morning went and got $40 worth of croaker fished shell in the bay. Not so good. after 2 fish by 9:30 we went to the surf. I think I'm more into the shark fishing now. Lots of 24 inch fish one 4ft black tip. IN 4 days we had reals striped 5 time between the 3 of us. Man eaters are out there. Ended the week with anouther 36 inch Red. Think I will be leaving the boat at home next time.

Hey Bluewave, Thanks for the report. How was the water clarity? Was there still seaweed or has it cleared up any? Oh, and how are they doing fishing off the wall, any good there too? I will be there in a couple of weeks to get my share .

Timing is of the essence. Fished five days in Port A. Five foot plus waves the entire time, rain, massive amounts of kelp. No fish. Impossible to fish the surf. No one on the south jetty was catching anything. Some friends went out from Dolphin Docks and not one fish was caught by the entire boat.

In the bay we fished the shell up by Robinson. Do north of stingaree's.2 weeks ago we limmited out up there. I guess the fresh water running in messed it up..?? Surf fished Crystal beach one day and catch a big Red. Caught 1 Redf and a bunch of sharks ar Gilchrist.

Yeah I know exactly where you are talking about .... we are in ramada beach, which is less than a mile from the stingaree...... My father has been down there for a few weeks and has done real good on specs in the surf, but that pretty much played out when we were there over the 4th due to the rain etc... Good Luck and Tight lines !

Hello Bluewave, Thanks for the fishing report. I had a feeling that the rain would mess things up too but like you said it will clear up. I'm just more thankful that the seaweed has cleared up finally. I will be going there next weekend for the wading and the night fishing with my lights and generator. Time for some R&R for me by then.

well before you go thanking your lucky start about the seaweed, I was down there Sunday and Monday and set out some surf lines for bull reds and maybe some drun, but came up empty because drifiting seaweed weighed down our lines. Now when I was walking out to the first sand bar there was a ton of baitfish all running around, so I don't doubt there are fish there, just couldn't get to them.
Give 'em hell, give 'em hell

Yes lots of bait fishs.
I havent fish the pass but have pulled up and watched for a few minutes. On the way to the surf. Yet to see anyone catch a fish. Out going or in comming tides. I would wait a few weeks after this rain it will get better.

The seaweed was terrible this past weekend for the 4th of July. I will be back down there again this coming weekend, so I hope it will be better, but it hasnt stopped raining there in over a week.

I notice people always correcting wrong terminology all the time...so now it is my turn. That is actually KELP not seaweed and it was horrible on the coastal bend last week. I could not even get back in to the rod holder before my line would be 100 yards down the surf.
