my buddies and i will be headed there early next week for a few days, and i am looking to see what the word on the street is on slp and that area. maby we will catch more than hardhead and sharks? sharks are fun too, though. anyway, if anyone knows anything, or has any secrets that they will be willing to endulge us of, than the help would be appreciated. thanks

SLP has been hitting heavy ever since the green water came in. at night, you can see schools and specks floating around under the lights.

The pier sells a white shad lure for $3 that has been working (for me) but you can probably buy them at a store for cheaper. Make sure it's white and has a lot of tail action. Have gotten specks and spanish macks on those.

2 weekends ago, the current came in strong and fast at about 4 a.m. and it was my first encounter with a feeding frenzy. every other cast i was getting strikes. (All lures. Didn't have time to switch to live bait to test.) lasted till about sun-up. Fun. Fun.

I generally fish at night b/c i can't stand the heat, so I couldn't tell ya what it's like during the day.

also, you can check out www.sanluispass.com

Also, there's a topic on SLP below
