No offense to the BRP crowd here but I would not even consider buying a boat with a Rude on it. The reputation is horrible. Mercury & Yamaha own the market share.

When we went in for lunch there was a guide there with a new Merc ProXS. I asked my guide if he had the phone number to the guy with the Merc. He looked at me kinda funny and said Yeah, why??

I said, "Cuz when this Suzuki breaks down on us we will need someone to call to tow us in!" frkazoid

Owned Merc and replaced with an e-tec 2 years ago.....E-tec is superior starting better, running quieter, less oil gas and just a higher tech design and would not ever go back. Problems with older etecs and their very advanced designs for the time seem resolved now. Seems a lot of the problems were caused by boats with bad tanks, dirty fuel lines getting dissolved when they stated using ethanol blend fuels and the injectors would clog and damage the cylinder. New re-design seems to be handling ethanol ok now. Etecs are proving to be the most reliable outboards now in many offshore fishing operations where they make very lenghthy runs every day. In Brazil, Etecs are running great on 25% ethanol.
