Nope not wild eyed or liberal.
Call BS if you want. You do show more respect to a man you have never exchanged a word with because he is a fellow "sportsman" than a man who is a fellow sportsman and you have exchanged words with.
The reason I ask about being a politician or lawyer is that you talk in circles, as bbop, say one thing out one side of your mouth and another out the other. Respect etc. Demeaning others just because there point of view may be slightly different then yours and misconstruing that view as your proof that they need to be demeaned. Calling BS but not calling BS. Then unable to substantiate what you say.
Once again avoiding what I asked.
We may not agree on the finer points but overall as I have said previously essentially agreeing on the general picture.
I do not think I made personal attacks as you and bbop have on me. If I have, it was not intentional and I am sorry.
I stand on condemning Levi McCathern on the standard that he eluded to (he want to hunt something that could hunt him) which is untrue, and the illegal action that he himself stated. Not by my own standard. I also feel as a sportsman that it is not right to waste a resource(life) for my own personal gratification (Ok this may be a personal standard but I do believe with some confidence that it is not mine alone and has pretty solid grounds). I hope that someday you can catch a fish that I or others may have released that has grown into a trophy for your wall.
I do not have the answer to my own question. As all great questions, that is why they are asked.
This was not a win or lose deal. Although, like in a school yard people tend to stand behind the real bullies. Why those that may pose a different view or look different are mocked. Might does not make right just as Laws support the law makers.
Fish on and live a long and whatever you want it to be life.

There are just too many people that if we don't live by their standards demean others for it.
Who could this be? Oh yea, you of course.

Despite your assertations your questions have been answered. You don't like the answers.
Essentially I did not go so far as to call BS, but did assert that such a person would be as rare as a 14' alligator explaining why.
I would say that I have been respectful, but perhaps your feelings are fragile.
I understand that you are criticizing/condemning the lawyer. I am saying that until he is shown to have behaved illegally you are unjustified in doing so and do all sportsmen a disservice.
Wasted Resource? I would say not if the meat was salvaged and the hide is at the taxidermist as reported.
I think throughout I have been about as plain language as I know how and plenty clear. The fact that you do not like the answers is beyond my capability to resolve.

How am I doing a disservice to sportsman? If you see someone doing something wrong or hear of somebody doing something wrong, especially by their own standard and not mine, You do nothing or say nothing until a court of law finds them guilty of said wrong doing.

You never did answer the question, and that is ok. Like I said, I myself do not have the answer. Just don't kid yourself you did.

I think this discourse may perhaps of been a service to sportsman. As somebody had already suggested by implying they would think about their actions on the water. I for one think that is great. I will try to continue to examine my own actions and justifications.

In saying that, I am doing a diservice to sportsman, you are criticizing me. You cannot have it both ways.
Oh look there, and there. Its that two faced thing again

I think Lusca would happily tell you that the items he is examing began long before this conversation occurring in another forum. I think this discourse may perhaps of been a service to sportsman. As somebody had already suggested by implying they would think about their actions on the water. I for one think that is great. I will try to continue to examine my own actions and justifications.

Apparently you have stated the question poorly or I have been unable to grasp it, but I think I have addressed your points. Try stating your question clearly, simply and succintly in one sentence and I will try focusing like a laser beam to answer it. You never did answer the question, and that is ok. Like I said, I myself do not have the answer. Just don't kid yourself you did.

If the standard is a personal one and not a legal one then it is a personal matter, not yours. If you are alleging a legal wrong doing then best to be silent and await a outcome than risk a false accusation. Smearing a hunter or fisher with accusations of wrong doing without evidence smears us all in the eyes of the non fishing/hunting public. They are the ones with the real political numbers and clout that will decide our future. How am I doing a disservice to sportsman? If you see someone doing something wrong or hear of somebody doing something wrong, especially by their own standard and not mine, You do nothing or say nothing until a court of law finds them guilty of said wrong doing.

Someone needs to take a poll. So we can see who has won this debate. Or maybe we can add a debate section on the forum. I guarantee membership would increase. Like someone else said its kinda like a car crash. You cant help but look.

Karpbuster, What kind of line do you fish with? Anchor or tow? What a fun ride that would be. I think 50# braid would be min. Northerns and muskies bite right thru so a steel leader.
