I was there at Crystal Beach this last Wed - Sunday. All I caught was small black tip and hard heads. Caught one Bonnet Head and a 27" Gaff Top. I was wading on the 2nd sand bar using squid and finger mullet mostly. The seeweed was thick until you got out to the 2nd sand bar.

i stayed a few days at crystal beach last weekend and we did pretty good, use live croaker for the specks, just a hook and no weight or cork. go right past the first sand bar cast out and hold on. our best luck was early in the morning.

Hey sounds great, my wife and I plan on going down there this weekend if weather permits. Where did you get the croaker and was there plenty in stock to buy. Thanks in advance! thumb

we stayed down by the bolivar yacht club, thats where we got the bait also. they had plenty then so im sure you shouldnt have any problem getting some. If you take helen street ( runs beside the new school there ) and hit the beach a go to the right , that stretch of beach right there is pretty good. look for the sunken boat and i can guarantee there will be quite a few fisherman early in the morning.hope this helps good luck. should be a fun weekend to be at the beach smile

Hey Larry, where do you normally fish at Rollover? In the bay or surf. My cousin and I will be there the weekend of the 14th. We usually stay at Reynolds Rentals. We will visit the Northend store a few times while we are there. We like to shark fish in the surf if the wind and weeds will let us. Otherwise we will wade fish the pass. I know what you mean about the Ferry. I was told that after midnight they only run one Ferry and if you don't hit it right you have to wait an hour. Last time I went I waited 45 minutes. I will stick with going through Winnie from now on.

For those heading down to rollover I highly suggest ya'll stop off at the North end Bait shope and get a burger and fries if ya'll are getting hunry. I had a double meat cheeseburger there this weekend (didn't even know they had a grille) and I was extremely impressed. I will be heading back that way as soon as I can get down there and do some surf fishing.

Hi Wigman
Sorry I took so long to get back to you, trying to wrap up these roof jobs in time to get out town. Wife likes wading the bay for specs and Flatties. We'll fish the wall at night with lights, she likes getting down on that sand bar if the tide goes out enough. We'll be in the cabin there at North end from the 15th to the 23rd come on by and say hi if your up there. You can catch us in the bay, just look for the 50 year old red head wading all the time and that will be Charlotte.

Sounds good Larry. We'll stop by and say hello. My cousin and I both drive white Dodge pickups. Say hello if you see us first.
