I sure could use some information on how the surf looks right now. I want to throw some top-waters on Monday. Do I need to drive far down? Is there a bunch of grass? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I guess I should just ask questions like "where do I hook a shrimp?" and "are hardheads good to eat?" or maybe "does it hurt if you step on a stingray?" Questions like these always seem to get plenty of response. Bring up a conditions question and get nothing. I guess questions like "is Rockport fishing good?" and "how do you wade?" are questions I should stick with.

Hogzilla, A friend of mine just got back from South Padre today. He said the blue water was all the way to the beach. Said people were catching Spanish Mac.'s casting from the beach.

Hey, Hog, I hear ya' bro. Sometimes it's like pulling teeth. I get the same response on the hunting forum. Crickets.

Look at my post about Bolivar. Getting live bait was the key. Get a cast net to get fresh live bait in a bucket. On bottom or under a cork.
Hard heads are not good.

Surf is on fire. We caught bonita and trout almost non stop all morning on sunday. Smacks and kings were also in busting the surface all over on the ends of the jetty. Shoot, there were fish all over the surface in the surf on both jettys. Get out and enjoy.
