I've never really given the Trinity River much thought, since we have so many decent lakes within minutes of town.
However, this past weekend, I was driving over the Henderson Street/Jacksboro Highway (199) bridge coming out of downtown, right by the RadioShack building, and noticed a few ski/cruiser type boats gathered together off to the east, and a bass boat trolling along to the west.
Where are these folks launching their boats? Google isn't turning up anything with regard to boat ramps. Even looking on satellite photos, I don't see anything resembling a boat ramp. Any ideas? Thanks!

Thanks! There is a small launch ramp pretty much underneath the 199 there (its directly Southwest of the bridge right next to the highway). They have a slalom course set up for skiiers in that section. I don't think its a public ramp, I believe the gate is locked from the road there leading down to it. I have seen water skiiers down there though, but only like one at a time. If you were able to launch you'd probably be able to fish a few miles to the West and maybe a mile or so to the East before you ran into the low water dams.
