Guys had a great time. This was our second tournament and had never fished on Texoma for crappie. We ended the day with a blown fuel pump and had to be towed in through the waves. A family towed us back all the way to highport for the weigh in took us and them more than an hour. Couldnt thank people like that enough! We dont have a fancy boat and only have one older graph on the boat, but can tell you all of the valuable information CAT,TFF, and others on this forum advise and give on this forum, WILL pay off if you apply what you read and hear. We had a game plan for the wind stuck to it and marked other peoples brush and slow trolled points, brushpiles, and steep drop offs succesfully. We met some great folks and had a good time. Well executed tournament - We ended up 12th out of the 33 and stayed competitive with literally some of the best crappie fisherman ive seen.

Thanks to all for the congratulations! Duck Jerky and I are pleased we were able to represent BnM, CAT, and the great state of Texas in claiming the victory!

Also, congratulations to Schwieterman/Rains, Obier/Sims, Jay/Ronda (top male/female team) & all the teams that collected checks, prizes, and got qualified for the Crappie Masters classic. The top 15 teams got qualified. CAT was well represented with the top 5 teams being CAT members. CAT continues to prove it has some of the finest crappie fisherman in TX.

Fortunately for Duck Jerky and I the end of the day turned out great and we could not be happier.

The beginning of the day didn't start out so well as our IPAD alarm clock didn't go off (operator error?/who knows as we didn't have time to investigate) and we didn't start fishing until 6:45. Start time was 6:00 am so as you can see we pulled a Hicks/Clark Lewisville move. On the back end of the day, we had stressed fish so we had to quit around 12:45 and head to the weigh-in. The rough water beat us up on the way in and we weren't about to go back for another hour of fish time especially since our bite had dwindled the last hour we fished.

We were the 8th team to weigh-in and although we had 10.01 #'s we weren't optimistic it would hold. By the time, 25 or so teams weighed in the nerves started to get the best of us a we knew we had a shot.

When Rains/Schwieterman weighed, the scales first showed 10.30 then went to 9.80 something then finally settled at 10.00. Duck Jerky and I couldn't believe it. My O my what a difference .01 #'s make.

Thanks again for all the congratulations! We finished the day keeping 25 plus we threw back 5-8 keepers. I iced them last night and just finished putting the fillet on them. We caught all our fish 8-17' deep bottom bouncing minnows and jigging using Lake Fork Trophy Lures Baby Shad. Here is a photo of our catch:

So were there any entries other than the folks from CAT? How many?

Keep looking forward. That’s why windshields are larger than rear view mirrors.

I met several out of state teams during pre-fishing and at the seminar friday night. The comment was made at the seminar by the tournament director Paul Aplers that of all the Crappie Masters tournaments where a crappie club was involved CAT has had the most members to participate.
