yesterday i had a ski boat that came within 15 feet of me and my dad and we only have a 17 foot boat and i had nothing to hold on to and got thrown from the boat and almost knocked one rod in the water and had another in my hand when i went in just wondering why some people have no common sense

They probably just don't know any better. Not really an excuse in my book though. Give them the stare as they come at you and usually they get the hint.

The other day I pulled up to a shallow bank area with a drop off. I was with in casting distance to be able to hit the shore line if I wanted to. I killed the motor. Walked up front and this ski boat comes right between me and the shore line. I yelled at him to get his attention and through up my arms. He got the point but my spot was done for...

Keep the MAN's number in your phone. If the warden is on the lake he will help. Follow them; watch for alcohol and report to him.

this works but is a pain to actually do ...what i would like to see is the wardens out checking the ski boats randomly for a change instead of checking the fisherman while this type of stuff is going on

if you're phone can do video record it. If you have a video of a boat going in a circle around your boat and "harrassing" a fisherman then they are breaking two of the regulations on public waters and will be ticketed. Other option is to record their hull number and report them.

Final option, buy a paintball gun. I'm gonna.

Great idea on the phone video. I'd not thought of that, especially as I always put my phone, keys, and wallet in a rod box for safekeeping. That would record their numbers as well as evidence of their actions.
I was on RC and one of those jet skiers decided to run circles around us. After a couple of casts with a slab I'd just about figured out how much to lead him when I saw the GW headed straight for us. Figured I was in Dutch. GW didn't say a word to me, just motioned the j/skier over to him and they had a powwow, then followed him to the ramp, and I think wrote him up, and stayed there till he loaded his ski and left.
Probably a good thing I don't normally carry a rifle in the boat or there'd be a few motors with badly leaking cylinders around.

I Like the paintball gun idea. Conroe is full of those idiots and some BIG cruiser boats are just as bad they think they own the lake. It can be calm no wind on a Conroe weekend and be whitecaps on the water from all the boat traffic.

Woulda, Shoulda, Coulda.

But if you are rocked enough to get thrown from the boat, you really really really need to get their TX numbers and report them if at all possible.
A boater is responsible for the damage that their wake causes and not to mention the harrassing fisherman thing.

But people have died from being thrown from a boat. That boater needs to be taught a lesson that they'll remember.

in situations like that, I used to hang the ole bum cheeks out at em and moon em... they typically would be so horrified by the ordeal, they would have to shut down their boat, so as not to spray vomit all over their passengers and show boat.. if nothing else, they seemed to avoid me the rest of the day.

You do realize that if you fire that paintball gun at anyone you could be charged with assault right? Its not worth it.
