I'm planning a trip to Falcon and have a question concerning firearm posesion and use of lethal force on Lake Falcon in Texas water. Is it legal under Texas State law to posses a legal firearm in your boat on Lake Falcon? Can lethal force be used to protect you and your property if there is an intimate threat while in your boat on Lake Falcon in Texas water?

Thanks.
Oh, one more question- Have fishermen staked personel claim to honey holes on Falcon? Is "Hole Hoppin or Jumpin or bumpin" a punishable offense with the Mexicans as it is in Wood County? Couldn't pass it up!lol.

House Bill 25 will now allow anyone who can lawfully possess a handgun to have one on a watercraft under the same conditions as handguns are allowed in motor vehicles. Thus, you may have a handgun concealed in your boat or watercraft if you are not violating any law other than a Class C misdemeanor regulating boating. In addition, you must not be a person who is prohibited from owning a firearm or a member of a criminal street gang. This law becomes effective on September 1, 2011, so for this summer, you must keep the handguns off the boats unless you are a CHL holder.

Get caught with a gun in Mexico and get locked up for a long time (as in forever plus a day).

If you need to take a gun to fish Falcon then you probably shouldn't go. JMO

Actually I think you will find that Falcon and Amistad being border waters are really under federal jurisdiction. If you go to the NPS website for Amistad you will find that they have a note in there that states that if you can leagly carry in Texas you may do so on the water. Now as far as Mexico goes you get caught over there with a gun as said before you are toast!!!!
