fellow fisherman there is a meeting at the Broken Bow Library in Broken Bow Oklahoma. the Oklahoma wildlife dept and beavers bend park rangers will be there! the Lower Mountain Fork River Foundation needs our support and input! some of the issues at hand are illegal fishing in the blue and red zones and illegal activities like swimming, tubing, canoeing and kayaking between the spillway and the EH bridge! there has also been problems with families taking there toddlers to the lost creek area to go swimming and they have been seen "SPEAR" fishing with large tree limbs!!!! it is up to us the take back control of the river and preserve all the hard work that has been put in over the last 3 years to repair the damage done by the floods! PLEASE if you have time make a run up to Broken bow tomorrow and attend the meeting!!!!

I saw a guy with a frog spear, spearing fish over spring break. Stopped a ranger and told him, but I don't know the outcome. A family of 11 set up lounge chairs beside the big deep pool in lost creek, they had over 50 trout on one stringer. 3 people had fishing rods, the rest were drinking. Another fly angler was yelling at them. I'd go to the meeting, but I'm guiding all day up there tomorrow..... I'll be there in spirit.
Make spillway creek all the way to the bridge a red zone please. Then the trout will have a bigger chance to actually grow.

TarponFly,
I was on the phone with the OWLD director in OKC for an hour and he has told me that if people call the game wardens and they fail to show up or do "NOTHING" then we are to report the incident to their supervisors! failing to enforce state game laws will result in either a suspension or termination of the game warden. They are sworn officers and MUST enforce ALL regulations. he said and I quote "if the game warden is not doing his job he will be suspended, transferred or terminated".

Well that's nice to know. I have called a couple times and they didn't show up at LMF. But I have also called GWs here in TX that didn't show. They were on other calls or another lake.... Two sided coin.

I promise you, if I saw 50 trout on a stringer, you'd see my mugshot in the paper the next morning! Period.

I agree with carey on the subject of red/blue zones, and I agree, they need more patrolling of tge stream. I would like it if the stream watch program was more encouraged....i really wish i could go.
