 Lake Lavon - Hubbard Area - Anyone interested in forming a Kayak Fishing Club?

For Yak fisherman in Wylie - Rowlette - Sachse - Murphy areas.
My ideas:
Club meetings 3rd Thursday of each month at East Fork Park (Lake Lavon).
Low membership cost. Use for cookouts and tourn prizes... etc.
River fishing trips.
Tournaments.
Open invitation fishing trips to various locations.
Anyone interested? Got more ideas?

I'm all for getting a handful of tournament going up in this area. They have been successful with this down around Austin. With as many lakes as we have up here in the north Texas area I don't see why this wouldn't work?

I did a tournament last year on grapevine and it was pretty crappy. Takes a lot of effort to make it good

So how about a tournament once a month or bi-monthly at
lakes in the north Texas area?
We are a scattered group of Kayakers so it would be hard to have monthly meetings. But we could put up a tournament schedule of the lakes here on the board, and the months to fish them.
I think it would be a very doable thing to put together. It might be a small group of 5-10 at first. But I think it would catch on if we gave it a shot and stuck with it.

Not sure about tournaments, but a bi-monthly or tri-monthly or quarterly GTG would be awesome
