Couple of 25+ mangroves, 20+ lanes and a little red snapper.

Fish till your arms fall off; then crank the reel with your mouth.

There he stands, draped in more equipment than a telephone lineman, trying to outwit an organism with a brain no bigger than a breadcrumb, and getting licked in the process. ~Paul O'Neil, 1965

About 120 feet muddy bottom near an old rig. caught the mangroves suspended about 20-30 feet down and the lanes on the bottom.

I prefer a light pole for jigs and a heavy pole for bottom rigs. I fish with a heavy spinning reel with 20 lb test and then a 4/0 with about 40 or 50 lb test.
If you are looking for just one reel try something like a penn 209 with about 30 lb test. It might be a tad light for the bottom and a tad heaveir than I like for jigging but it could serve both purposes well.
