Anyone know anything about Mercury voiding a warranty on a motor if it has been in Mexico? This sounds strange to me since we have Falcon & Amistad which are border lakes and guys cross over all the time.

It is from a friend looking at a used boat. He just asked why would the warranty be void.The motor has less than an hour on it.The boat was originally traded in with an 01 motor and the dealer couldn't move so they found ths 08 and bought it and put it on the boat.

this is true if it been sold to a dealer in mexico an comes back to the US it has no warranty i purchased one a while back that was on a new boat sent to mexico it had .05 hrs no merc warranty did not matter to me got a good deal be sure to get a certificate of origin an a signed noarized bill of sale out of mexico you can get a tx title with this good luck
