A BIG THUMBS UP TO THE COAST GUARD FOR THEIR RESPONSE TO A VESSEL IN DISTRESS ON SATURDAY.

WHILE FISHING SATURDAY OFF PORT A WE NOTICED A BOAT SET OFF A FLARE. WE IMMEDIATELY REELED IN ALL LINES AND HEADED FOR THE VESSEL. HE HAD AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WHICH FRIED THE ELECTRONICS. WE LET HIM USE OUR RADIO AND THE COAST GUARD PICKED UP THE TRANSMISSION.

THE COAST GUARD CIRCLED HIS BOAT WITH A HELO AND FIXED WING FALCON THEN DROPPED HIM A RADIO FOR THE TOW IN.

IT WAS A NICE FEELING TO SEE OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK WHEN 26 MILES OFF SHORE.

THUMBS UP TO THOSE GUYS FOR A JOB WELL DONE!!!!

Did the CG actually tow him in or just aid in him calling a tow boat. The CG has told me they will take people in but not the boat...really curious.

They also pulled a boat off the rocks on the north jetty on Monday. Older yellow cuddy cabin lost his engine. They took that one under tow and brought it to the city ramp. Their response was FAST. One of the orange RIB's and a cutter in about 5 minutes.
