I have not been able to get out yet this year and fish, thus I have not bought a fishing license yet. I will have some time from now until August to fish some. Do I still need to buy the fishing license from now until August at the full price or is there an adjustable rate? I know you can by a one day fishing license for $10, but I was not sure if the price of the freshwate license changes since the license year is almost over. I did not think it does, but I was just checking.

you can get a license that expires year to date for $47 (I think that's the rate I saw when I was at Bass Pro last week). It will expire 1 year from when you bought it instead of August. So if you bought June 24,2011, the license is good til June 24, 2012. Not a bad deal if you ask me.
Good luck.

Just to clarify, if you buy a 1 year license on June 24, 2011, it will be good until June 30, 2012. It runs through the end of the month. I know this because I just renewed last week and it runs through June 30, 2012.

So I was off by a few days LOL But yea, that's probably your best bet since I don't think there's a discounted price for the regular license that expires in Aug. At least I've never seen a discounted price for it.

You can get a 1 day license for $11 - I just got one for my daughter. Not very economical unless you're only going to fish 2-3 days between now amd 8/31.
In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

It doesnt matter cause I renew every year but last I was told they expire at the end of August regardless when you buy it so if you buy it in June of this year it will still expire August of this year unless it has changed since last year. I was going to buy my wife a super combo last year in june and they told me that would be dumb cause it would expire in 2 months.

Good luck. This has to be something new never heard of it before they have always expired at the end of August the following year or same year depending on when you bought it.

Ran into thia a couple of years ago, and yes it hasn't been too many years since it has been an option. If you buy one now it is regular price and expires 31 Aug. You have the option to pay extra, think it was like $10 or so extra, and it would be good for 1 yr. That's just for fishing though, hunting or combos don't have an option. Guess because of the tags.

Thats why then I always buy a Super Combo and I know those go from the day you buy till August the following or same year year depending on when you buy it thought I was missin something.
