i got a question. i went out the other night to catch hybrids under the lights. on the way out we could shine a spot light anywere in the water and see shad every were but under the lights there were very few??? y is that? you would think the shad would be all under them right?

Shad feed on zoplankton "or how ever you spell it". That plankton travels in waves like clouds across the sky. The plankton can't swim from one side of the lake to the other,they just kinda move around as they drift. This time of year the plankton are gonna be Where ever the wind takes them and the climate is optimal. That's probably why the shad were in the open water.........but that's just a guess.

That pretty much explains why fishing wind blown points and banks is so good, wind pushes in the plankton, shad move in to feed on plankton, game fish move in to feed on shad, fisherman move in to catch game fish! Theres the ole food chain at work!
