Frenzy, when there are 20 boats with kids, another 10 with no kids but bahaving just fine, relatively loud country music or rock, then one boat comes in playing nothing but "the F" word music and you are telling they not only have the right to be there BUT they have the right to infringe on another 60 peoples' rights? Man, I find it hard to believe they have the RIGHT to play that music and that the other 20 boats should either teach their children to ignore it or just leave. They 100% have the same right as the rest of the boaters to be there, but they do not have the RIGHT to play that music with 40 children in the same PUBLIC area. This isn't Lewisville, which apparently is well known as Sodom and Gomorrah and accepted. This is a small area where primarily families tie up to let their kids play together and yes, maybe, have a beer or two. It should not be headed toward being Plato's Retreat.
IMHO, if society has come to the point that we just have to ignore profanity, obscenity, vulgarity, then our society is in more trouble than I thought. From many of the responses I guess it is.
Last thing I will say, look up the lyrics to Lil' Wayne's "DI#) Pleaser" and tell me how this is appropriate music. If you say this is acceptable and something you teach your children to ignore I will admit I'm wrong and stand down. Ray in your example, yes, that would be wrong. If someone pulled up next to you and you're family and started drinkin and actin crazy, yes that is wrong. However that is not what happened to you and in your OP you said that you pulled into the cove with people already there. So when you pull into a cove they are just supposed to stop what they were doing and move along? Seriously, you pulled in and put yourself there. They did not come to you. I guess if you walk into Baby Doll's they should stop the music, quit serving alcohol, and put all their clothes back on right?

I cant remember what thread it was, might have even been this one, but it made me laugh. A guy on here asked his son what lake he wanted to fish this weekend. His son said Lewisville. He told him "we never catch any on Lwisville, why there????" His son said "one word dad........BIKINIS!"

I think you should go to party cove and single-handedly convert every person there to think and act as you see fit.

Frenzy, this gets old!! Yes, there were PEOPLE there. Families, a little country music, actually pretty calm and quiet. This dude pulled in, right through 15 plus boats, anchored in the way of the swimmers, cranked up the rap garbage and drowned out the music being played. He was not the first boat in the cove. In fact, he was one of the last of the day, around 3 or so that afternoon.
Honestly, not asking for anyone to validate or rebutt morals, just thought it was rude and since the music was so obscene, that the dude should have at least had a little common decency.

Wife and I fished Saturday morning then went back to house and picked up the kids. Kids and grandkids are 7, 7, 9, 11, and 15. Made two trips to the "party cove". On second trip I pulled into cove and idled as not to be rude. Had some giant 8 cylinder tank cruise right past me, all but run me into some anchored boats and then pull nearly on top of my family that was swimming. He ran in, made a loop, right next to a bunch of boats, then left. So, I pulled on in and was amazed at the foul language and almost worse, the loud foul rap that was being played by another large ski boat crew. I would say there were 30 boats, 20 of which had small children. Just seems that there are far too many these days that have no manners.
Just venting!! My apologies, if that is what happened then like I said before, that was wrong. However that's not how I interpreted your OP. You say in your post that a tank cruise pull in made a loop and left. You then said you pulled on in and was amazed at the foul language and rap being played by another boat. From reading that it sounds like 2 differant boats and that the one with the rap music was already there. Maybe I'm just reading it wrong. Anyways, hard to have a discussion with someone when their story keeps changing. I hope next time you and you're family are on the lake you don't have any problems .

Last post on the subject, IT DOES NOT matter who was there first, first of all. But, my family and many other families were there, the big boat is neither here nor there. The boat that ended up playing the rap music did not have the rap music on at first. I DON'T know if he was there or we were there first. In the afternoon, when we all had been there for some time, he cranked up vulgar music, see my post on Lil' Wayne, and my family and another 20 families had the privilege of listening to this garbage. He was not the only boat in the cove already playing this garbage when the many other families arrived. I flat don't see why you feel you need to try to segment and dissect the post. The guy was playing filthy music that should not have been played around a bunch of families in a public cove paid for by all of our tax dollars, including rude boy. Good God, he doesn't have the right to play that type of music around families, which is undebatable. Nor, do the women have the inalienable right to be topless, the men bottomless, or the right to shoot herione or machine guns.
Is that simple enough of an explanation?
My story doesn't change your understanding was the issue. We can argue but some feel that this type of music is their "right". Next time, their "right" will get them at minimum a visit from the sheriff.
