Question about the regulation:
I also have the atwood light and it is attached to my crate and it works great. Question is that I don't believe it is tall enough and was wondering if my body blocks it from someone looking at me head on, is it out of regulation?

Correct. It has to be visable for 360 degrees. If the GW wanted to be a stickler, he could give you a ticket.

I went ahead and spent the money for visi-carbon and am very happy with it. It's collapsable and very flexible. It also has a orange flag that doubles as a storage bag. I'm all about DIY stuff but this thing was calling out to me. I have a buddy that used a 2 dollar led flash light attached it to a piece of PVC then slid a ping pong ball over the top. Works very well. . I looked at them yesterday but they were $85.

If you take a pic of your yak to Austin canoe and kayak you 20% off or if your a TKF member you get 15% off. The visi carbon was just one of those things that I thought was cool and had to have. Lol you understand. Plus it is a very reliable piece safety equipment

Is this to be like a white light that is required on the back of boats for night use? Something I did was to get one of the solar yard lights that Walmart sells for a few $. It works great, and if it starts to get dim you can replace the rechargeable battery with a plain AAA battery.
JIM Tried it...not bright enough. Tek Tite This is what I use. It's very bright. Just ordered it, have it next week

Easy remedy. Use foam tubing to make the diameter bigger then slide into pvc pipe.

I just added tape around the bottom end till it fit snug into the PVC (know this is kinda old but just read it )
