_Hey Red: Best I can remember from my testing this time last year... I had 12# with the box stock Torium 30 drags and 18# after I installed the upgraded Machined Drag plate and Smoothey drag washers. You can order the upgrades from "RicksFishing1" on Ebay. Ror direct purchases there's www.Charkbait.com also check out www.SmoothDrag.com online store. You may be able to get a few more pounds of drag pressure with the new Carbontex/ Carbon Fiber drag washers?? I have'nt tried them yet, but TFF Member "Skeeter Ronnie" put some Carbontex Drag washers on a couple of his reels. He says they work well in is Dry Run testing but he hasn't fished with them. _Good Luck and Catch A Big'un Yall! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Bazztex<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

I am very pleased with the dry runs... I can load up 23# drag before lockdown on a dry bench test. I wouldnt do that in fear of smokin them...but I know their limits. The carbontex drags are supposed to be better in the sense that they wont "fade" under extreme load. They sure brought the Torium 20 to life!! Willbe puttin it to the "tuna" test during the TFF Quatro Tuna trip. Its spoooled to the rim with 65# SPiderwire stealth. (dont like the powerpro anymore)

The drags work better after either being used or locked down overnight. Most Toriums will put out 20# stock and 22# or better with the drag plate and new washers.
