i just want too say THANKS too all the TFF menbers for their support on the cca/star, but yesterday i failed a second polygraph, so they dq me. some bs about rule #3 of the cca/star rules???? i had 3 or 4 people that were on the boat when i caught the fish willing too step up and take a polygraph on my behalf and they wouldn't do that. the cca/star would not work with me in any way! so much for my support for the cca/star in the future! i did not cheat or lie about anything about this fish. polygraph's are not my thing. i never believed in polygraphs and now i really don't! this is the first time in my life to take a polygraph! no one or no machine can tell me or you what your thinking! thanks again and fish on!

Sorry to hear this, certainly looks like a great fish.
I don't know, but it sounds like you need to get yourself a new Lawyer, and fast (get an injunction on allowing the cca/star to award the boat to another person until you get this all cleared up).
I don't know anything about the boat, but if you are right, and have enough witnesses, then it would be worth it to prove it, for a $60K boat.
just my .0002 cents.

Sorry to hear about that. I understand about the polygraph thing too. I had to take one MANY years ago in order to get hired for a job. The dude giving the test did not believe my answer to the "Have you ever used illegal drugs" question. My answer was "NO!" everytime he asked the question (regardless of how the question was worded). To this day, I have never, ever, even tried any illegal drugs! He ended up shutting off the machine and began lecturing me about lying on the test. He threatened to fail me based on his personal belief and not what the machine indicated. The funny thing was, he said the machine was indicating to him that I was telling the truth, he just did not believe it was true. He said there was no way anyone 20 yrs old had never even "tried" something. I told him I could drink enough beer and Wild Turkey to drown a fish but never even considered drugs. At that point, I just told him to do what he wanted because I could care less about the job if I was going to be called a liar.

scott! i feel the same way! the boat don't mean that much too me, i just won't be called a liar! the cca/star has lost ALOT of support from myself and alot of my friends. everyone on the boat that day knows who caught the fish. as for a lawyer, i'm not sure it's worth the trouble? by the time i pay a lawyer and all the bs that goes along with it, i could go out and buy myself a new boat and have no headache's too go with it! thanks! fish on!

Call a lawyer and explain the situation. Find one to take the case. If you get the boat you sell the boat. He gets 30k / you get 30k.
That would be sweet.

Actually, I would think that the CSA/STAR would have to pay "ALL" court costs. He has Witnesses.

Iride, Were you a shrimper or guide at anytime within the last 3 years? Did you work in the bait business? What could you have lied about that would disqualify you other than that? I am not saying that you are not telling the truth about anything but what are they trying to say?

I'd like the answer to that also, Pie Puncher. It looks like they're not saying he didn't catch the fish but that he violated rule #3 which means he has worked as a guide or professional fisherman. If that's the case, its a sad deal but he never should have entered the tournament being ineligible.

You state that you were disqualified per Rule #3. This specific rule relates to a person not being eligible to fish in the contest if he has either fished commercially, worked as a fishing guide, etc. either presently or for the prior three year period. So evidently the lie detector test showed that you were lieing when you answerd "no" to the question about did work in the industry or were a guide sometime during the three year period. Evidently that is why you were disqualified. I'm not saying you were lieing, I'm just explaining what the Rule #3 refers to.

If you are not a commercial fisherman or do not receive compensation for fishing then you might want to change your profile on the TFF forum where you list your occupation as "Fisherman".
