Update. Was planning on leaving it in a box at the base of the tree I thought it came out of until we realized there was going to be another round of storms. Went to PetSmart and got a bottle and some cat formula. It didn't take long for it to figure out the bottle. Don't think it would have made it through this stuff. They are trainable. Very smart and can litter box train too. Just takes a little time. I have a friend that raises them, so if you need to find a home for the lil guy let me know. It'll be very well taken care of.

Took her to the Plano Living Materials Center. I didn't want to take on what would be required in raising it. It was very cool though. If anyone has kids in the PISD they may see her someday. The Center is not open to the public and only does educational programs for Plano students.

Red racoons are called Ridge Runners to those in the coon dog business. They run and run and run for miles before treeing whereas a "bottom coon" or "creek coon" will generally scamper up the nearest tree.

A coon of that color is called a cinnamon coon. They are pretty rare.

Don't get caught keeping it for a pet. They are fur bearing animals and a buddy of mine got a big ticket when he got pulled over with his pet in the pickup with him
