I had a 15 ft tri hull that I made the best of for catfishing... I have a 18 foot center console and there is so much more I can do on this boat I have a lot of ideas I can actually implement now.

Fiberglass center console or an aluminum deep v would be the best choices.

I am also on the market for a used center console. I am looking for one at least 18 ft. I am looking for a bay style boat. Maybe a shallow V (whatever they're called) or flatter. The Carolina Skiffs are nice as are some Cajuns which I don't think they make anymore.

I have an 09 18Ft Mako. If I had it to do over again, I would have gone 20-22ft.

You cant go wrong with a pontoon of any size, I believe Jeff from team catfish even uses a pontoon.
The one Tom Gravley has is the perfect catfishing machine. Steady, catches wind pretty good for drifting and you can put your rods out pretty evenly and moniter them really well. Plenty of space for how ever many you wanna bring with you plus all your gear.
To be honest, thats probably what im gonna get. And than, you can tube with it too for the kiddo's.

I like my 19' Bluewave CC. 90hp Suzuki 4-stroke just barely sips gas and is so quiet I forget to turn it off sometimes.

My friend has a 21ft Kenner center console, and a rail that was added that almost goes all the way round the boat and equipped with rod holders, this boat comes in smaller sizes; rides great and conformable to fish out of.
