I will be in Port A june 5th-8th.

Was planning on taking the 3-8pm Deep Sea Headquarters trip.
Anyone been on this boat lately?

I cannot do a full day, since I will be there with the wife and kids.

Any other suggestions?

Joe

I wouldn't bother with that trip. I've found the twelve hour trips offer better catches of more species.
You might be better off to fish the peirs and jetties for trout and reds.

Second the 12 hr trip. My buddy just got back from Port A and did the 5 hr trip out of DSH. The whole boat only caught 2 fish. Seas were a little bumpy (5'). I had warned him to stay with the longer trips. I won't take one less than 12 hrs.

JRB56,

I went on an 8 hour here about 3 weeks ago on the Gulf Eagle. Limited out on Snapper up to 20", not to many people got their limits simply because of inexperience. Fella behind hind me caught his limit as well with a 16lb stringer. 5 hour is kinda short, the 8 hour leaves at 7:30 and comes back at 3:30. We got out 33 miles in 150' if water on the 8hr. I think the 5 hour out of DolphinDock tatrgets sharks and Kings. Never been, but if they are catching the kings it would be worth the short trip.
