Headed to Falcon in couple weeks what do i need to look for as far as my hubs. these are the first oil bath ones ive had. also what do i do for maint.

check for proper oil level before you leave and check them everytime you stop or go around the boat.
had oilbath on the semi's I drove (front axles) and ya just need to watch for leaks and low oil, other than that they are great to have.

They should be black. If they are milky brown or gray you probably have water in them.

If this is new to you I'd just look and make sure the hub is full of oil. If it is, leave it alone.


How old is the boat and how many miles would you guess its traveled?

The Ranger Trail says to change every year not that anybody does it. Oil is 50 weight racing oil non synthetic I believe.

50 weight non detergent oil.

They changed the recommended change interval to every 2 years or 20,000 miles. That is the UFP oil bath hubs.

The boats an 08 and the furthest itS been is choke and back. Maybe 10000 miles give or take a few.

If it aint leakin or turning colors, hubs dont get hot, why change evey year
