I was driving home from Austin and we stopped at The Stagecouch inn in Salado, TX. Salado Creek was right behind it I asked a guy if it good fishing he said I would not catch anything but bluegill and maybe a catfish but he was wrong. I found a spot under 35 that looked perfect so I looked around and saw bluegill swimming everywhere and I saw 2 carp swimming and a bunch of bass fry so I tried a small spinner I found and the bottom of my tackle box and caught..... Longear sunfish Largemouth Bass And I think this is a Guadalupe Bass but not sure.

Nice little catch there. And welcome to the forum. That's a largemouth by the way.

To the Texas Fishing Forum. The simple style of fishing is hard to beat. I enjoy fishing the Salado here in San Antonio and have fished it alot. Nice Catch. Good Job!

Dang! haha I was hoping it was a Guadalupe because of it's weird pattern. Yeah, the Guads do put up a great fight. But you'll be able to tell when you catch one. They have more of a gold color most of the time.
