Good things to come with hunger like that. When I was a boy, I asked my uncle if the excitement before a fishing trip would ever go awy. He said in 50 years it hasn't gone away for him. Back then, if I wasn't fishing, I made lures, organized tackle, practiced casting and I thought of fishing all the time. I have lived on a lake for much of my adult life to make sure I could go as much as possible. I still get excited! It never goes awy. I think you have a natural "problem". wear that pool out and good luck with the boat.

I basically grew up on a bass boat. There's pictures of me as a baby with a rattle trap (no hooks). Apparently I prefered it over a normal baby rattle.

Lost the bug when I joined the army and got shipped around. Just caught it again after my honeymoon and some chartered fishing tours at tahoe and san fran bay. I've spent too much money since then on tackle, rods, a boat, silly accessories. It ain't a cheap hobby but I'll be damned if I'm dieing with money in the bank and an empty tacklebox. Gotta have something to leave in my will besides paper that gets more worthless every day wink

U remind me of myself at that age! From the bank to a paddleboat and on to a big bass boat it's all just as fun as long as we get to fish!

We all stumble and make mistakes. When you stumble, do you want your brother to help knock you down or to help set you back on your feet?

14? I remember ruining many a pair of good socks and shoes(according to mom,..)tramping my way to any peice of water I could stomp to. You got the fire, you got the fuel. Dont Lose Your Spark! Patience is something few have these days...some fishing days,...Patience is the only person you have to talk to!

Sounds like a good problem to have. I have been on a boat since I was 3 and have not set down a fishing pole since. I was using an open face at 6 or 7 and its been fish on the mind ever since. I am still young (19) and I would say its a great habit to have going into Junior and Senior year for highschool and college years. I am picking up my second boat this week and thats about all I can focus on, the problem is I dont get it till Friday! Sleep doesnt exist the night before I fish a tournament, yet it feels like a full nights sleep all that next day on the water. Keep fishing it will keep you out of trouble for the most part especially in college fishing instead of partying wins everytime. Start saving now so you have some money to play with in college for fishing stuff its always nice to upgrade and buy new toys (boats, rods, trolling motors, depth finder and anything else that has to do with fishing.) If your ever in College Station or around any lakes within 60 miles send me a message I'll take you out for a fun trip. Bastrop, Conroe, Gibbons Creek, Fayette or Somerville you just have to pick the place... ha

Fish on!
