Do the fish bite very good at Blue Wave Beach in Rockport? Me and my dad are going to Rockport later this summer and I was wanting to go to Blue Wave Beach. We will be staying at Balboa Courts. Also can you guys tell me some other good fishing spots in or around Rockport. I know about Goose Island State Park, Copano Bay, and the pier outside of Balboa Courts Cabins. Also were are some good places for seafood? When we went last year we ate at Charlotte Plummer's and we were going to try Captain Benny's but it was closed until the day we had to leave and we didn't catch anything last year. Thanks for your answers.

The little canal that runs from little bay there in town to Aransas bay has a lot of fish in there from time to time. If yall can get live shad from a cast net there of small piggy perch, fish the canal/channel.Use a small split shot weight about 18" above the bait and let it kind float with the tide. I noticed there is a pier there now but I have never walked out on it. The key for success there @ the park is the early morn. bite! The pier @ Balboa is a great spot at night I use nothing but artificials usually and catch more than I care for. Small plastic baits such as trout assassians, the smallest mirrolures you can buy, any type of "jerk bait". My colors tend to run around pink, chartruse, and silver any combination of those 3 colors. The jetty at the Rockport basin is also a good place at *night* under those powerful lights when they are working...its a tough spot especially when the wind is kicking up but schools of trout are often there at the last two lights...wait til around midnight as this place tends to be busy. It always pays to be carefull there as it tends to get slippery. Copano bay and the Goose Isla area I boat fish usually so I cant be much help im afraid. Late summer equates to NIGHT TIME UNDER THE LIGHTS unless you are taking a boat....this is just my personal experience as Im sure others here can provide more info for you
