Hey all, What's the report on Lake Palestine? Is it good fishing? Is it full of timber? Never been there but want to explore a new lake and would love some helpful advice. Places to look for fish etc.
Thanks

Tons of timber. The fishing is horrible. Don't waste your time.

+1 Fished Palestine a couple of weekends ago just south of the 155 bridge. Caught some sandies and a few hybrids with chartreuse Sassy Shad on 1oz jighead. Sand bass were schooling on points around there in the mornings and evenings but were small. I've fished Palestine a couple of times this year and the sand bass I've been catching are smaller than usual. Thinking of going out there next week. Let me know if anyone is catching hybrids.

Went this morning on the south end of lake. Caught four 16-18" and one nice 23" hybrid. Caught ten more 13-16" nice sand bass. Got pretty rough around 8:30 and moved out of wind but didnt catch anymore. All were caught on 4-5 in threadfin shad in 14 ft of water. Threw sassy shad some but no bites on it. Lake is down about 4 foot from last year b/c this same spot was 18 ft deep last year at this same time. We need some rain bad.
