http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/703/74233164660113568801100.jpg/Uploaded with ImageShack.usAs I posted to my Facebook account: "07-04-2009 -- King Salmon egg sac. These are the real eggs, unlike the synthetic stuff sold in your local sporting goods store! My cousin landed the king while fishing Deep Creek in Ninilchik, Alaska. (At the time he was bartering roofing services with www.afishunt.com, in exchange for offshore halibut fishing trips. When his ten day fishing oddysey came to a close,... he came home and handed me the egg sac. I cut it in half and brined the eggs. We then used 'em for fishing the wild, native rainbow trout in Wasilla Lake later that summer and into early fall.)"

214 views but not one comment?...Man, I have lived the dream and slammed tons of salmon in Alaska! They can get so thick that even an atheist would turn into a believer if I walked across the water -- that is, over their backs!....For those who are younger here, chase your dreams and move to t he 49th state and experience it yourself!

I guess we don't get excited too much by fish eggs, lets see some pictures of the fish and the river, that would be more entertaining. I have a picture of some catfish guts, Do you want me to send you a copy ? good luck MO

The skeins are better if you don't break them.. The way those are broke trout bait is about all they are good for. Put some pro-cure on them and have some fun with the Dollys and Rainbows.. If you use them as single eggs, the smolt won't leave them alone.Ninilchik ,Deep Creek and the Anchor all three usually have a fair run, but the Kings are small. The Kasilof and the Kenai are both much better fishing. Good Luck !

Purebay and Brendo, I know Sheep Creek and all about Borax brining...I loved it! I use skeine net sacs to wrap my eggs....
It's glad feller Texans have had the great opportunity to fish Alaska as I have had -- or to live there....I'll post more pictures later....I"m trying to add friends/novices here from the board to Facebook, so they can see my wall/album pics via a click of the mouse. I wouldn't feel easy spamming a hundred pictures to this forum! Bandwidth costs a little money here!

A nice pile of eggs. My wife would have sauteed them in butter and so both of my daughters. Roe is their favorite.
